Facilities & Maintenance Manager
The Facilities & Maintenance Manager maintains the building and grounds to the highest quality and oversees maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, custodial functions, security and emergency preparedness, service contracts, grounds up-keep, and safety inspections. He/She works with the Executive Director to recommend maintenance, mechanical, electrical and facility design modifications. This position maintains one bus and occasionally drives for short field trips and also occasionally assists the Events Coordinator and Education Director with setting up and tearing down on-campus events such as tours, fundraising events, and school events. The Facilities & Maintenance Manager has opportunities to work with and direct volunteer projects related to the facility. Hours could include some weekends and evenings for special events. The position requires being available 24/7 for facility emergencies.


The Facilities & Maintenance Manager must have a clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and be actively involved in a local church or fellowship. As with all employees of Happy Hands Education Center there must be agreement with the organization’s statement of faith and lifestyle statement. All employees including the Facilities & Maintenance Manager must pass a fingerprint background check per DHS Child Care regulations. For transporting students this position must acquire a minimum of a CDL Class C passenger driver’s license.


· Must be at least 18 years of age with HS diploma/GED. Prefer Associates or Bachelor’s degree

· Project management and organization skills

· Work cooperatively with school staff and students

· Understanding of HVAC, mechanical, electrical and commercial kitchen needs

· Ability to problem solve

· Strong communication skills especially with vendors and contractors

· Strong procurement and negotiation skills

· IT skills as related to facility needs

· CDL Class C Driver’s License with passenger endorsement

· Adherence to Happy Hands’ Christian lifestyle statement and statement of faith
