Happy Hands’ Statement of Faith and Family Lifestyle Commitment
All children are welcome at Happy Hands. Happy Hands exists to serve the needs of children and families with hearing loss and communicative disorders AND to minister the love of God to the children and their families. There is no church affiliation requirement for the families we serve.
Happy Hands believes the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative, inerrant Word of God. We believe the Bible reveals God’s will for salvation and is the final authority for the Christian life. Happy Hands’ staff is comprised of born-again Christians, active in their local evangelical church, and staff and board members alike sign a Statement of Faith. Employees and board members will conduct themselves in a way that will not raise questions regarding their Christian testimonies.
Our statement of faith does not exhaust the extent of our beliefs. The Bible itself, as the inspired and infallible Word of God that speaks with final authority concerning truth, morality, and the proper conduct of mankind, is the sole and final source of all that we believe. For purposes of Happy Hands’ faith, practice, policy and discipline, our board of directors is Happy Hands’ final interpretive authority on the Bible’s meaning and application of our policies and directives. In light of Happy Hands’ statement of faith and family lifestyle commitment, Happy Hands’ sincerely held religious belief is that God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as either male or female, and that these two distinct, complementary sexes together reflect the image and nature of God (Genesis 1:26-27).
Notwithstanding any other policy, Happy Hands restrooms designated for one sex shall only be used by members of that sex. An employee who wishes to express a gender other than his or her sex is understood to be rejecting the truth and the image of God within that person. Such behavior constitutes a failure to adhere to his/her commitment to abide by the lifestyle standards established by Happy Hands which is cause for termination. Biblical Christianity requires the body of Christ to compassionately dwell in the truth and assist those we love in doing the same (Ephesians 4:15).
While today’s family units are varied and often include extended family and legal guardians, we believe the Bible instructs the basic family unit to be comprised of a mother and a father. Happy Hands will always teach the ideal, Biblical structure of a family unit to include a mother and a father but will also support those families whose structure may be single parents, grandparents, extended family or other legal guardians.
